This year's Symposia Series includes two pre-conference sessions: 1-2-7 Go! NIMS for Hospitals, and Core Disaster Life Support
® . Symposia sessions include a wide range of topics addressing public health preparedness, medical preparedness, responder preparedness and business/industry preparedness. For example: shelter/mass care for developmentally disabled adults, avian influenza from an agriculture perspective, behavioral health and disaster response, chemicals being transported across Nebraska, HR policy issues in a pandemic, working with the media, and response and recovery from the Central Nebraska ice storms.

Core Disaster Life Support - North Platte, NE

CDLS is an introduction to “all-hazards” preparedness for basic first responders, community officials, business owners, and other concerned citizens. The focus of the course is discussion and application of a unique approach to disaster management called the D-I-S-A-S-T-E-R paradigm. MASS Triage™ is introduced to allow providers to effectively assist in the mitigation of the disaster and to assist in the process of triage.
