CRISIS COMMUNICATION FOR PANDEMIC INFLUENZA

Crisis Communication for Pandemic Influenza is a CDC developed course that focuses on risk communication during a pandemic. The duration and magnitude of a pandemic makes communicating different from communicating during other types of crises. This course focuses on the psychological and sociological differences as well as identifying trigger points and message content. The Center has incorporated the work of other crisis communication experts such as Vince Covello and Peter Sandman into the curriculum. The course also includes hands-on activities with the goal of having participants walk away with a portfolio of messages for use during a pandemic.
