In the case of a bio emergency where your survival kit is needed, it’s very important to make sure you’re loaded up with the right medicines and supplements to keep you safe and aware. Here’s one you don’t want to exclude from your prep kits.
The Bio X4 supplement from Nucific is known as a ‘4 in 1 Weight Management Probiotic’. It contains four different blended compounds, which work together to attack four issues with weight loss. The principle ingredient in this supplement is the Probiotic (1) blend, which contains a huge four billion ‘healthy bacteria’ per capsule and is composed of both Bifidobacterium and Lactobacillus blends. These living organisms may have the potential for a variety of different health benefits, including weight loss.
About Bio x4
According to Nucific, Bio x4 is described as a new, revolutionary compound which contains four proven nutrients for optimum digestive management and support. According to the product information, this supplement is suitable for vegetarians and contains no possible allergens such as lactose, gluten or filler ingredients. Bio x4 contains a range of different ingredient blends, which are explained as follows:
Digestive enzymes (2): Help you to gain the maximum nutrient potential from everything which you eat
12 billion colony-forming units (CFUs) of Probiotics: Help to rebalance the digestive tract with healthy gut bacteria
Caralluma Fimbriata: Helps to supress appetite
EGCG: Sourced from green tea extract and helps to support your metabolism
This probiotic supplement claims to help users lose weight, as well as help with healthy digestion.
Bio x4 Ingredients
Probiotic Blend: This main ingredient contains lactobacillus acidophilus blend (3) (L. acidophilus, L. rhamnosus, L. planterum). This healthy bacteria is present in a range of areas of the human body including the intestines and the mouth, and the vagina in women, where its purpose is to protect against infection and harmful bacteria. Studies show that it may also protect against diseases such as coronary heart disease and improve lipid metabolism, however further evidence is currently needed to support these claims.
The probiotic blend also contains Bifidobacterium blend (B. lactis, B. animalis). This is found mainly in some dairy products including human breast milk, and studies show that it may help with the improvement of some digestive disorders, including irritable bowel syndrome.
Digestive Enzyme Blend: The digestive enzyme blend found in Bio x4 contains amylase, lipase, and bromelain. Amylase is an enzyme which is present in human saliva and helps the body to digest certain carbohydrates such as potatoes or rice. Bromelain is a natural enzyme which is commonly found in the pineapple fruit. Clinical research suggests that it may be useful for helping to reduce inflammation and pain. Finally, lipase, the third enzyme ingredient, is a digestive enzyme that is secreted in the pancreas. Lipase is essential for breaking down and transporting fats, making it a crucial factor in the digestive process.
Weight Management Blend: The weight management ingredient found in Bio x4 contains 100mg of green tea (4). Research has shown that green tea has a range of proven health benefits, containing antioxidants such as polyphenols and EGCG which affect the metabolism and have anti-obesity and fat burning properties.
Craving Control Blend: The craving control factor of Bio x4 consists of caralluma fimbriata. (5) Derived from a native Indian plant, this ingredient has shown promising effects on weight loss which may reduce appetite. However, little research has been carried out, and the benefits of caralluma fimbriata are, as of now, still unproven.
So, what does all of this mean?
Over the years, probiotics have been promoted for a wide range of health benefits, including weight loss. However, there is little conclusive evidence available to prove (6) the health claims one way or another. Largely, the use of probiotics for weight loss remains unproven and untested. When doctors reviewed the Nucific’s BioX4 ingredients, they were impressed at them individually but collectively did not know how well they would work together.
As a medical science, probiotic supplements for weight loss is still in the early stages. Because of this, there is not yet any evidence to say for sure whether or not probiotics are actually beneficial or even good to take in supplement form. In addition, the risk of introducing bacteria into the body’s system means that these types of supplements are not always suitable for everyone.
Another fact to take into account is that the health claims regarding the digestive enzymes used in Bio x4 are also largely unproven. In fact, the only ingredient used in Bio x4 that has actually been proven effective for weight loss and beneficial to health is green tea, which can easily be obtained in both tea and tablet forms.
Bio x4 Side Effects
Since it can be difficult to determine whether or not probiotics will benefit you individually, it can be difficult to say whether or not you may experience any side effects when taking Bio x4. Whether probiotics are likely to be safe or not for you largely depends on the current state of your overall health. Generally, people who are reasonably healthy are unlikely to experience any serious side effects of taking probiotics or Bio x4.
However, for people with underlying health conditions or those suffering from a weakened immune system, there is a serious risk of infections being introduced into the body and other complications. These include:
- Intestinal gas
- Joint pain
- Pain when urinating
- Abdominal pains and cramps
In some cases, users who are sensitive to caffeine may also experience mild side effects when using Bio x4 due to the green tea content. These include:
- Sleep disturbances
Does Bio x4 Work?
There is no evidence to suggest that Bio x4 actually works to promote weight loss or support the digestive system. Although green tea has been proven as an effective supplement and caralluma fimbriata may seem promising, there is currently no clinical or scientific evidence available to support the claims that probiotics and digestive enzymes in supplement form are useful for healthy digestion or increased weight loss.
There are more videos out there on the web that can contribute to further research. Here is a good one explaining their results and user testimonial about using the Bio X4 probiotic product for a few months:
However, the research (7) into probiotic supplements is ongoing, and so far it does seem that there may be certain benefits, depending on the type of bacterium used.
Similar supplements have been released from popular network marketing companies like Nerium and Jeunesse, but are less potent and effective.
Ongoing studies suggest that possibly, probiotic supplements may be useful to treat conditions such as irritable bowel syndrome, diarrhoea, H pylori, indigestion, and vaginal infections (8).
But, currently probiotic supplements have not yet been approved by any medical establishments and are not allowed to be marketed for any specific medical condition.
